Our dog Brandy 4/28/93-1/5/08 and kitten Finnigan 6/4/97-12/4/02. On
the California king size afghan I made from leftover scraps of yarn.
I recently started dating the afghans with the date I finished them.
Use of the word vintage is to describe yarn that is discontinued and more than
likely 5+ years old. I would never use "vintage" yarn that wasn't in good shape.
"Reclaimed" yarn is from an unfinished project that is in great shape or an afghan that
didn't turn out the way I liked it, but the yarn was new to begin with.
Because of the time involved, adult afghans are usually made as custom orders.
All afghans can also be made as custom orders but some are also available as ready made.
Please be sure to check baby knitted afghans and child/adult knitted afghans, as that's what I've been doing lately.
I don't know if anyone knows the work going into making these afghans, but my pricing,
including the yarn averages out to my making $2.75 an hour to make these. Anyone else
selling an afghan they've worked so hard on, and put so much time into at the cost of other
things they could be doing for any less.... is cheating them self.
Baby afghans make the perfect baby shower gift whether or not you know the baby's sex.
Afghans can also make great lap robes for sitting on the couch or for people that use wheelchairs.
Child and adult afghans make great birthday or Christmas presents.
All types of afghans can be passed down for generations if cared for right.
